Sorry for being so needy... I'm failing. I'm losing it all... feeling like crap... :(

Are you there?
"Gondor? It looks like your still on? I'm saying a prayer for you."

Looks like I just missed you.
"I just want you to know I am thinking of you. For what it's worth, I am praying for you tonight. Hang in there brother."

"Thanks Summer... I'm doing horrible... but somewhere I've got to know that God still loves me.

My unique weaknesses, my tragic flaws of myself that run my life. I feel that I should type them to gain a better understanding of them.

I lack responsibility and respect to myself. I am perfectionist and passive. I am selfish and lazy.

Right now I just lack responsibility and respect for myself. Why do I hate who I am so much? Why do I not care about myself enough to invest good things into myself.

I don't know what to say right now... that is all... :("

Hang in there
"It is very important for you to focus on the things that you ARE rather than the things that you ARE NOT. The things that we choose to focus on become larger in our lives (whether they are positive or negative) and eventually they take over our lives. You cannot drown out darkness with more darkness. If you feel down, you have to find something to be hopeful about. Even if you can only find a tiny glimmer of light, you have to make that your focus, as you do, the light will get bigger and eventually overcome the darkness. Negative self talk will kill hope and without hope, change is not possible."

In my thoughts and prayers...
"I got on this morning to check and see how you are doing. I'm so sorry you're going through a rough time...I went back through some of your posts, I remember the excitement and hope you felt at those times. Sometimes it's helpful to go back and remember why we were happy at certain times. Here is a link to one of your posts favorite part is when you said, "The true love you can feel by following God's commandments is worth everything."...You gave me so much hope with that sentence. Thank you for sharing your story and progress. My prayers continue to be with you. "

One Day at a time
"I'm sorry to hear that you're having hard time after relapsing. I know it's not fun, I'm going through the same feelings right now. I think it might help if you move past the fact that you've lost your long period of sobriety. What's done is done, and you or I can't change the past, but we can move forward one day at a time. I know you can be sober for one day, just give it a shot. After a while the days will start adding up again.

I'll continue to keep you in my prayers. We can do this!"

Your Strengths
"Hi Gondor, I am very new to the site. If you can, I think we would all love to see a follow-up post to this one where you type out your strengths and why you know you have those character strengths. I have a similar problem of being too hard on myself and it is definitely a very vicious cycle to be in."

Get up and Dust yourself off
"Gondor, I hope you are doing better. Get up and dust yourself off and get back to work.

Here is a great scripture for some hope... D&C 137:9 For I, the Lord, will judge all men according to their works, according to the desire of their hearts.

We are all weak and imperfect! Just because countless times you've tried, and countless times you've failed, doesn't mean you can't change. You have to check your heart and see, is this something I really want to overcome, and if it is, don't be discouraged by disappointment, keep fighting. Keep fighting. What is the desire of your heart?"

"By emulating the Master, who endured temptations but “gave no heed unto them,” we, too, can live in a world filled with temptations “such as [are] common to man”. Of course Jesus noticed the tremendous temptations that came to him, but He did not process and reprocess them. Instead, He rejected them promptly. If we entertain temptations, soon they begin entertaining us! Turning these unwanted lodgers away at the doorstep of the mind is one way of giving “no heed.” Besides, these would-be lodgers are actually barbarians who, if admitted, can be evicted only with great trauma."
