One step further...

It has been a while since I have been on this site. So much has happened. I joined SA which was a good thing and have been trying to work the steps another good thing. But this week, my addiction got the best of me and in a really bad way. My acting out in the past has only included MB and porn, but this week I took it a step further. A friend of mine came to town, and I let him stay with me. One thing led to another, and you know the end result. I feel absolutely sick about it. I knew I had feelings for him. I know I should have not let him stay here. I know the consequences are great, and I feel like I cannot face them. I am not married, but he is. I cannot believe I crossed that I swore I would never cross. I don't even recognize who I am anymore. What has happened to me?

Take a deep breath...
"We all do things we regret. We all do things that disgust us. It is kinda understandable that this would happen. You found yourself in a precarious situation and you gave in to temptation. You are in the middle of another of life's lessons. I know it is serious. But it is not the end of the world because of the Atonement. Remember there is forgiveness for what you've done. When int comes down to it, it doesn't matter what other people think of you, or what people in your ward may think, or what your family may think. What matters is that there is forgiveness. It begins with confessing and forsaking the sin.

As for your last sentence..."What has happened to me?" YOU"RE HUMAN! YOU"RE IMPERFECT. It sucks, I know. But we ALL cross these "lines" we make for ourselves and feel awful about ourselves afterward. You're in good company."

"First of all. I'm really sorry you fell into this. I'm sure you are hurting and feel like you let yourself down and crossed boundaries you never thought you would cross. I've been there too many times. Its awesome that you are admitting this and getting it out.

we attend SA because we get fellowship of people that will have mercy on us for being human.
you are "human being - being human" . Life will go on. We hold ourselves accountable for our mistakes, understand the pothole we stepped in, humbly repent and move on. The worse thing we can do is hold a pity party for ourselves

work to find your serenity again."

A hard lesson learned
"These types of lessons are so painful. But, luckily, our mistakes do not define us. You are a child of God. And God allows U-turns. Hang in there."

"If it were possible to make your road very easy, you wouldn’t grow in strength. If you were always forgiven for every mistake without effort on your part, you would never receive the blessings of repentance. If everything were done for you, you wouldn’t learn how to work, or gain self-confidence, or acquire the power to change. "
